Migration!

The LIONS have been recently and suddenly forced to migrate with the wildebeests to new web server software, so everything is kinda messed up in the LION DEN right now.

HINT: Change the URL from "lionden.com" to "lionden.info" to view the old "legacy" Lion Den (until I get this one fully tamed).

Our sincere apologies!

It says there's an image in the question, but you can't see it?

snailSometimes the connection slows down.  Who knows why?  Maybe it's sunspots or Aunt Minnie's hair dryer.  That means that the text of the question may appear before the image downloads completely.  Just give it time.  Or try shutting down WebCT and coming back (you'll pick up with the item in question when you re-enter the test).  If you still can't see it, contact me.

The photo or figure is fuzzy or too small to see clearly?

magnifying glassOften, the photo that I use is purposely fuzzy.  Part of this is pure evil.  But mainly it is to test whether you can apply the information seen in a clear cartoon used in the course or in the textbook to the "real world."  The real world is often fuzzy and hard to see—but there are characteristics and landmarks that you can use to find your way and discover the right answer.

Sometimes the figure is harder to see than it has to be because your monitor is set to reproduce the images in a small size.  There are several ways to get around this.

One is to print out the item.  Often, when it prints out on paper, it is much larger than on the monitor screen.  Be sure to use the best print quality setting on your computer to get the sharpest image.

Another way to deal with small figures on the screen is to adjust the display settings on your monitor.  Navigate to the Control Panel in Windows and select display, then settings—then move your display size to a lower number, such as 800x600.  This will make everything on your screen appear larger.

You can also right-click on the image and copy the image into an image-editing program.  Then you can either zoom on the image or resize to make it bigger.  For example, you can click on Start, the Programs, then Accessories, then Paint—and then paste your copied image into the blank canvas that opens automatically.  Then click View, then Zoom to enlarge it.
